New ways to publish?
April 30, 2008Not writing, researching
For the past week, I’ve spend a lot of time researching the blogosphere to learn how to market my blog. Unfortunately, all that technical research has kept me from writing. I was also editing a short story that I sent out to several online and print publications.
I learned that Google’s Feedburner promises to help bloggers publicize their blogs, but the service is unreliable and gives users HTML codes that don’t work. There’s no customer service, just a help group on Google Groups that looks more like a “cyber bitch session” because most people complain about the same unresolved technical issues.
So, I am in search of ways to distribute my content across the web. I’ll even pay for a good service with dedicated customer service representatives.
Any suggestions?
For the next few days, I am attending, NewsTools2008 Conference on new media and new technology. I am eager to learn bout new ways to be a journalist and writer online. After spending so much time editing my short story, photocopying and going to the post office, I know I have to wait about three months for a response. Waiting so long to get a yes or a no from an editor and then waiting even longer for publication is ridiculous in this digital age. I am keen on finding out how to create my online media presence so that I have a large audience to whom I can post my articles and stories. I will also make a living from my work.
